George and Joe | Plainfield IL Family Photography

 These two little brothers were just precious in their little matching outfits!  I met their mom Anna, and their aunt at Cantigny while they were visiting from the east coast this summer.  Anna went to school with both my sister Shelly and brother in law, Mike.

Sometimes I wonder how I ever maintain a blog at all.  I'm horrible at this... I think if there is one thing my kids ever keep me from doing, it's being consistent!

Joe will make you want a baby boy to hug and snuggle.  He is seriously the smooshiest little kid I have ever met!

The Gundersen Family | Plainfield IL Family Photographer

I went to high school with Becca and Ryan.  I also did the photos for their son Gavin's 1st birthday when I first got started in photography, and he's totally my buddy now. 

We go waaaay back ;o) 

His curly Q hair-do melts my heart.  He's just a laid back sweet little dude, just like his mom and dad.  AND, they move into the new home I sold to them in just a few days!!! And when I say "laid back"  I mean it... this was not the easiest real estate transaction I have ever been part of, lol.  Ryan and Becca are two of the nicest people you'd ever want to meet, and be friends with.  I'm so glad they are staying in Plainfield!

We met up at Settlers Park in downtown Plainfield... and worked our way through the downtown  during our photo shoot before the wind and rain drove us back to our cars!  Their dog Tyson is the BEST.  He totally dove into the pond to chase the ducks... and I got the hiccups from laughing so hard.  This is a true "roll with the punches" couple that laughed right along with me.  It was hilarious!  I'm pretty fond of Boxers since I had one when I was a little.  What a great pet to add to the family.  He got his "wiggle" on when he saw me so I knew he liked me.  He must have remembered me from last summer ;o)

I love all the alley's in the downtown Plainfield area.  I also love all the brick walls and metal staircases... someday I hope to open a brick and mortar photography studio down there when my kids are all a little older!  Until then, I will enjoy not having the overhead, and capture the outdoors with while the weather cooperates!  (my only complaint when the weather does not cooperate!)

Vince and Mara.... and baby makes 3! | Plainfield IL Family Photographer

Vince and Mara are due in just 9 days!  Well, Mara is anyway, lol... and what makes this baby's arrival even more exciting, is that everyone one is dying to find out if it's a boy or a girl!

LOVED shooting for the first time at Cantigny in Wheaton, and LOVED all of these photos! 

The sun was pretty direct, but there were tons of places to tuck under some shade through the umbrella of trees.  The fall foliage and colors of the mums and seasonal flowers could rival any spring bouquet, even in late September.  (yes, that's how behind I am on posting my sessions to this blog... tomorrow is November 1st!)

I've known Mara since we were in elementary school as one of my younger sisters oldest friends... and her husband Vince is also my brother in law's best friend.  I can't wait to meet this lucky baby and watch him/her grow up in our circle of friends.  One thing is certain... this is going to be one good looking baby, just look at these two!

Jamie, Michael and Devan | Plainfield IL Family Photographer

Jamie and I grew up together spending our summers at our campground in Wisconsin when we were kids.  We didn't live far from each other in real life either. 

I was beyond excited when she asked me to photograph her family this fall at Cantigny in Wheaton.  I'm a little behind on my blogging, since it's obviously now December and all, but I just had to brag about what a beautiful family they are.

Jamie and Michael are just the cutest couple... and Jamie?  She is even more beautiful than she was when we were kids.  I was always mega jealous because the boys were always swooning whenever she was near :o)

It had been years since we had seen each other, but it's almost like not even a minute had passed... and of course I had my head full of all kinds of unfinished conversations on my drive home.  We ended our session with a "to be continued" that I'm really looking forward to.

Devan was the sweetest little boy, and Michael's mom, Mary, joined us for the session as well since she was visiting from out of state.  I'll tell you what...  Devan sure loves his grandma, and I think she kind likes him too ;o)

Meet the Harris Family | Plainfield IL Family Photographer

I met Megan and her family through a mutual friend.  (You might remember the Merlin's from earlier this year?)  They live all the way up north in Algonquin, but we were able to set up an afternoon session at the Morton Arboretum this fall before the weather got too cold.  It was actually kind of warm this day and it was perfect for photos.  I just love the colors Megan chose for the family to wear.  They just pop off the screen in this session!

The kids were awesome, even though I think I dragged the session out a little longer than they would have liked.  Their mom promised them a candy apple when we were done, and I'm pretty sure their minds were on that payout all throughout the session.  They were so good, despite being tempted with all the fun things to do there... all while waiting for their sweet treat ;o)  Way better than my own kids would have been!

The Harris family is a picture perfect family and I loved spending the day with them at The Morton Arboretum! It is definitely on my list of favorite locations for photography sessions!
