Little Miss Ava | Plainfield IL Children's Photographer

This winter I decided to fill in the cold weather gaps with indoor studio sessions in my home, AND, while I'm usually not a lover of studio lighting, I actually have an AMAZING natural light setup in my house.  I'm not at all opposed to investing someday soon in a lighting situation that allows me to work all 365 days of the year, no matter what kind of light comes shining through my windows.

This is from the session featuring 4 year old Ava D.

I went to school with Ava's mom Deana, and her Aunt Kristie back in the day.  (I won't say "exactly" when... cause then I'd just seem old ;o)  Ava was just shy enough to seem bashful, but just sassy enough to give me these perfect little poses :o)

AND oh my gosh, her eyes!  Just GORGEOUS!

Thank you so much Deana, for letting me capture Ava for this photo session.  She's a pretty little thing with all the potential to be anything she ever wants to be.

I love all the ways that photography allows me to connect with people from my past!  So. much. fun!

The Zapata Family | Plainfield Family Photography

I have a ton of catching up to do!  I've been busy finishing up the sports season with the kids, and booked with TONS of photo sessions so I'm just catching up on some editing... oh this poor neglected blog!

Anyway, I just wanted to introduce you to the beautiful Zapata family.  I met Carrie back in junior high and thanks again to social media was lucky enough to reconnect with her a few years ago.  (gotta love Facebook... even though they won't quit making annoying changes to it every 4 weeks!)

Carrie and her husband Carlos are two of the nicest people you'd ever want to meet.  They are really that nice and that thoughtful.  Even though they were one of the winners of one of my giveaways this spring, they insisted on giving me a very generous gift card to The Cheesecake Factory.  See, they are the most thoughtful couple ever!  (Thanks again Carrie!  Anytime this momma doesn't have to cook is a good night!)

Cameryn, Luke and Mia were so awesome to work with.  They were so well behaved and polite, and they did exactly what I asked them to do.  DREAM clients!  Honestly, you never know what you are going to be up against with the littles.

So grateful for these beautiful images to add to my portfolio, and so thankful to have Carrie as a friend!

I was being selfish with my October weekends because I wanted to spend it with my family before the weather got too cold, but I do have some openings that just became available.  If you would like to book a family or mini-session before the end of the month, please call me at 630-673-6233.

I also have a Christmas card photo mini session open house scheduled in my home for November 5th and 6th. Like my Facebook page for all the details to the special promotion!

Lucy and Lola | Plainfield Children's Photography

I'd still think they were two of the cutest little girls on the planet... even if they weren't my nieces :o)

The thing you have to understand about my niece Lucy is that for the 50% of the time she loves me, the flip side to that affection is met with something less than adoration.  It's okay though because she totally informs me of when she likes me, and she's sure to make certain that I know when I'm not in her good graces.  She is a girl that knows what she wants and I wouldn't take her any other way.  Luckily for me, we were sooooo BFF during their photo session. She posed like a Toddlers and Tiara's diva.  (and well... maybe there was an ice-cream cone for her from Tate's Ice Cream Parlor at the end of it too :o)

Lola, on the other hand, is my little zombie loving buddy.  Well, I mean she loves to hate them, but either way she can't get enough of her obsession.  The kid just turned two and had a zombie themed birthday party... she's totally hard core.

It wasn't hard to pick Adam's Park in Wheaton again after my session with little blue eyed Liam early last month. I love that place!  So much so, that I'll be there again this weekend with the Zapata family.  The locals are going to think I'm some crazy pigeon-like lady if they see me hanging out there every weekend!

I'm also looking forward to another session I have booked for next weekend at Cantigny in Wheaton with the Kinsella family.  The colors are starting to change and it will probably be beautiful there next weekend.  Fall photo sessions are such a great way to capture the family!  Gahhhh, I love what I do!  AND I love these two girlies:

Due to Inclement Weather and Illness:

My last two sessions over the last 4 days have been postponed.  Of course, my trigger finger was getting itchy... so I resorted back to my old ways.

Capturing my own kids in a moment:

Stay tuned later this week... Anthony's first birthday is the next big thing!  Until then, you might just see some more pictures of my kids.... or my dog!

Aiden

I was so excited when my old friend from school, Dee,  asked me to photograph her 6 year old son Aiden for his Christmas pictures.

I've known Dee since Jr. high... and thanks to Facebook, we've kept in touch on-line.  I was eager to capture a new face on film, and boy, this one one super cute face to capture!

Aiden is particularly fond of two of his favorite Iron Man figures... both of which made several appearances in his portraits. (thanks to the advancements in photography they were banished under invisible layers in Photoshop :o)

Here are some of the photos of Aiden from his session today:

I told him Big Bird was in my camera, and he totally knew I was lying.  He was absolutely over me by the time I took this one.  How could he be anything but adorable in this photo though?!

If you are interested in booking me for a photo session for your child, family or engagement session, call me at 630-673-6233.  I work in the Southwest Suburbs and would love to capture your family in photos!
